SHAWNEE, KS - Who doesn’t love fireworks? If you do, then make a plan to come to Stump Park on June 25th for Kansas City’s first public fireworks display of the year at the Picnic in the Park festival!


MERRIAM, KS – Celebrate America in Merriam at the Flags 4 Freedom display, June 26 – July 10. Each year, Downtown Merriam transforms into perfect rows of patriotic pride as Flags 4 Freedom volunteers place United States flags at the Merriam Marketplace and along Merriam and Johnson Drive. Everyone is invited to stop by during the week around the Fourth of July to view an astonishing display that honors our nation.


BONNER SPRINGS, KS - The City is proud to bring back Bonner Blast! Join us on Thursday, July 1, in historic downtown Bonner Springs for the return of Bonner Blast featuring a city band concert, ice cream social, and fireworks display! Visit Historic Downtown for shopping and dinner, then head over to Kelly Murphy Park, 129 Elm, where you’ll enjoy an evening of patriotic music followed by an old fashioned ice cream social and the Bonner Blast Fireworks Display. The City Band concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. followed by the ice cream social. Fireworks will begin around 9:45 p.m. after the City Band concert. More Info: www.bonnersprings.org/BonnerBlast


LENEXA, KS - Lenexa Freedom Run: July 3

Start Independence Day celebrations early with this Lenexa tradition – a 5K or 10K race at the Lenexa Freedom Run. This is a family-friendly event with more than 1,300 participants. Runners, walkers and strollers are welcome!


KANSAS CITY, KS: Fireworks in the Park

Join us Saturday, July 3rd, for our Independence Day Fireworks Show! The firework show will take place in Pierson Park around 9:45 pm (weather depending). You and your family are invited to join us for this FREE event in Pierson Park, 1800 S. 55th Street!


OLATHE, KS: The City of Olathe is booming with Fourth of July festivities! From traditional fireworks to 1860s fireworks at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm, there is something for everyone. Do you already have plans to watch fireworks? Check out the other activities happening this weekend!


GARDNER, KS - What could be more American than watching some of the finest military pilots in the world perform acrobatic maneuvers for thousands of onlookers? On July 3-4, 2021, Gardner plays host to the 2021 Kansas City Air Show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, among a lineup of 30+ performers. Held at New Century AirCenter (a former U.S. Naval Air Station), this event is one of the premier air shows in the country (named Air Show of the Year in 2019). KANSAS CITY, MO: Gather on the south side of the National WWI Museum for the Stars and Stripes Picnic on Saturday, July 3. Bring your friends and family to listen to music, grab a bite to eat from a local food truck (or bring your own spread) and enjoy the iconic grounds. A fireworks display will begin after dusk and last around 20 minutes.


LEAVENWORTH, KS - Leavenworth is looking forward to July. From the fireworks display on the fourth to the free concert series on July 10 by the band “South Bound”, there is something for everyone to enjoy. There are also several shopping events to attend such as the Alive After 5 on July 1, Side Walk Sales on July 9-10 and Christmas in July on the last weekend.
