From sandy beaches and lakes to splash pads, aquatic centers, and resort-style pools, you'll find family-friendly adventures across the metro. Pack the sunscreen, grab the towels, and start planning one last summer outing.



Kansas City, Mo

Head to the beach without ever leaving Kansas City by visiting Longview Lake. The full-service marina offers pontoon and paddle boat rentals, or you can bring your own boat to explore the 900-plus acres of the lake. Even without a boat, you can enjoy a day at the lake. Take a swim at Longview Lake Beach or go fishing at the dock.

Open daily from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., it's a great way for the whole family to stay cool, have fun, and make lasting summer memories.

Merriam, KS Merriam’s Aquatic Center is a year‑round destination with both indoor and outdoor ways to have fun and keep cool. Indoors, you can enjoy a relaxing lazy river, exciting slides, and a heated therapy pool, while outdoor amenities—open Memorial Day through Labor Day—include zero‑depth entry, diving boards, a zip line, and other fun water features.
