Christmas at Camp is a festive event for the whole family. Fully decked out for Christmas, Youthfront’s Camp West features an illuminated lake walk with interactive experiences to retell the Nativity story. Check out all the museums in Leavenworth and Fort Leavenworth for a day of fun and learning. Learn about the remarkable story of C.W. Parker the “Carnival King.” The Richard Allen Cultural Center tells the history of African Americans in Leavenworth County and highlights the Buffalo Soldiers from Fort Leavenworth. The Carroll Mansion Museum showcases the early life in Leavenworth through the 1900’s. The First City Museum has artifacts from the frontier railroad and manufacturing industries. The Frontier Army Museum on Fort Leavenworth covers military wars from 1827 to 1917 and has an exhibit on Lewis and Clark’s expedition plus much more.
