Liberty, Missouri

Get out and explore nature on the Spooky Trail Hunt from Liberty Parks & Rec! This self-guided activity will run October 17 - 31. You’ll find 12 ghosts hiding along the trail at Westboro Canterbury Park, each holding a key to complete the a secret pixel photo. Turn in completed activity sheets at the Liberty Community Center for a Halloween treat.


Merriam, Kansas

Get ready for a not-so-spooky good time at Merriam’s Halloween Happenings on Saturday, Oct. 18. Kids ages 10 and under are invited to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy an afternoon filled with games, candy, an InstaFunKC photo booth, and a lively Trunk or Treat hosted by Merriam business owners. This FREE event is the perfect way for families to celebrate Halloween in a fun, safe, and festive setting.


Overland Park, Kansas

Pumpkin Hollow at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is a fall tradition packed with classic seasonal fun. Hop on a hayride, pick out the perfect pumpkin, and explore a corn maze built for little adventurers. Kids can climb, slide, and play on the farm-themed attractions while parents soak in the crisp autumn air. Get ready for a frightfully fun night at Gardner’s 28th Annual Halloween Boo Bash, hosted by Gardner Parks and Recreation at Celebration Park! On Friday, October 24, little ghosts and goblins can enjoy ghastly games, spooktacular rides, tons of candy, and prize drawings. Leavenworth, Kansas

Trade horror for history this Halloween. Fort Leavenworth was established in 1827 as a gateway to the West, and its Frontier Army Museum traces its legacy as a guardian for the Oregon and Santa Fe Trails. See museum exhibits come to life on Friday, October 24 during Trick or Treat at the Museum, where costumed re-enactors share stories (including a ghost tale or two), hand out candy and encourage kids to play games like the ones enjoyed by 19th-century settlers. Registration is required.


Kansas City, Missouri

What could be better than trick-or-treating throughout the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium? Break out your best costumes and spend the day with the animals at Boo at the Zoo, October 25-26. Kids will love Halloween-themed activities and entertainment that offers plenty of treats—no tricks or scares here!
